I mean… this wedding had it going on. Everything was meticulously done from the crystals on the altar to the butterfly wall (which were each individually cut by the bride!). The details were perfect, just perfect. This was our second wedding testing out our new gear, the indislidermini and our new glidecam. I think it’s safe to say that with lots of practice and creativity, our new gear can turn out some pretty epic shots. Check out their highlight reel below to see what I’m talking about!

Rob + Heather // Highlight Reel from Gator Bride Videography on Vimeo.

Their wedding was held at Crosswater Hall in Nocatee, FL. Seriously beautiful. We also got to meet the husband and wife team of Wilson Photography (loving all these husband and wife wedding teams!). They were super nice and turned out some beautiful photos of Heather and Rob’s big day.

Gorgeous, right? Another thing I love about checking out the photos of weddings we’ve done is to check and see if we made it into any of them. If we don’t… SUCCESS! We are doing our job at being out of the way, yet capturing every moment. :)

This weekend we are finishing up Brandon and Melissa’s Ocala Wedding highlight reel. Can’t wait to share it with y’all. These two are so freakin’ in love. For reals. It just flows out of their glowing faces. As soon as the hubs finishes up the color correction (didn’t know video had to be color corrected? yeah… takes FOREVER), I’ll have it posted.

This past year has been truly amazing. I absolutely LOVE filming weddings and putting together highlight reels for our clients to share. They are so much fun! I still can’t believe the hubs and I have started our own business. I love it so much! I have to pinch myself to remind myself that “Hey! We are wedding videographers!” So exciting. Thank you all for the support and love through out this past year. It’s incredible. Thank you. :)

Josh and Amber’s Camp Blanding Wedding Highlight Reel http://gatorbride.com/gb-video-josh-and-ambers-highlight-reel/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://gatorbride.com/gb-video-josh-and-ambers-highlight-reel/#comments Sat, 12 Nov 2011 14:08:27 +0000 Mrs Gator http://gatorbride.com/?p=6753 A few weekends ago we had the pleasure of not only filming one wedding, but TWO! Our first wedding of our “double header” weekend was Josh and Amber’s. They found us quite a while ago when we were just starting up and learning the ropes of capturing weddings. We are so excited that we’ve had the chance to hone our skills over the last few weddings. With each one we do, we get better and better. Which feels amazing!

Any-who, back to my story… We were getting super excited leading up to Amber and Josh’s wedding. We were soo stoked to be capturing such a sweet couple, who also happen to be Gator fans (win!). I even featured one of their family photo shoots at the UF stadium on the blog. Seriously fabulous shoot… you MUST check it out. I’ll give you a moment to do so…. I’ll just wait right here….

We had so much fun at their wedding. Amber and Josh were so incredibly sweet and even fed us a yummy dinner at their rehearsal. We spent 9 fun hours with this couple and have so much fabulous footage, it was so difficult to edit it down to a mere 5 minutes.

One of my favorite moments in their highlight reel is at the 2:33 mark, when Amber and her daughter, Bailee, are hanging out together. So adorable! At their wedding we also had the chance to try out some new equipment. YAY!! We got to break in our glidecam and indislidermini. They are the ingredients for some serious epic shots. Don’t take my word for it! Check out their highlight reel below.

I love this video. I really do. Is it sad that I watch our client’s highlight reels all the time? Sad.. I know. They just make me so happy!

We also had the chance to work with Matt Whystell and his team at Matt Whystell Photography. Let me tell you… they are AWESOME. Heart them. Seriously heart them and their quirky/fun/peppy/awesome-ness. He’s located in Starke, FL and the mister and I are already scheming reasons to have a shoot done by him. :)

And I’ll end this little post saying that it’s wonderful meeting so many wonderful professionals in the wedding community. Everyone we’ve met have been nothing but kind to us. Even sharing some insight for us into the wedding vendor world, as we are still sorta newbies. We are so thankful.

Gator Fridays :: Bryn + Seth’s Campus Engagement Session http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-bryn-seths-campus-engagement-session/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-bryn-seths-campus-engagement-session/#comments Fri, 28 Jan 2011 12:28:39 +0000 Mrs Gator http://gatorbride.com/?p=6137 I’ve seen so many photos of engagement sessions taken on the University of Florida campus. It’s funny how photo sessions taken at the same location always end up so different. Each photographer and couple have a unique view of the UF Campus. This week’s Gator Friday feature is of Bryn and Seth (who, are having an ORANGE and BLUE wedding this coming May!).

Bryn + Seth’s Story (as told by Bryn):

We both met through mutual friends on a night out to dinner the summer of 2008. We spent that whole next weekend hanging out and have been inseparable ever since. I was going to the University of Florida that fall to finish my bachelors degree and luckily Seth lived in Gainesville. So we spent the first two years of our relationship in the heart of the Gator Nation. We both (thank goodness) are huge Gator fans! Seth proposed to me on Christmas in 2009 in my backyard by the river. He knew that I wanted to get married in my backyard (my brother and sister-in-law also got married there) and he wanted to propose in the same spot he knew we would get married. We are now living in Valdosta, GA while I am working on my graduate degree and Seth is working to finish his bachelors degree at Valdosta State University. Our wedding is going to be March 12th, 2011 and our colors are of course orange and blue with some other gator accessories here and there.

I love Bryn’s blue wedges. Sooo cute!

Ahhh…. Adorable. Pretty awesome that they are sitting where Gator Walk happens every game day. Some AMAZING players have walked this path to the Swamp. Such history in those there bricks!

The happy couple snugglin’ outside the Baughman Center.

Congratulations to this happy Gator Bride and Gator Groom!! Oh, and don’t y’all want to see the amazing (and sentimental: see story above) place they will be tying the knot?

Gorgeous. So sweet they will be getting married at the same place the Gator Groom proposed. It just makes mah little heart flutter. :)

If you are familiar with the UF Campus, what’s your favorite location on campus? Mine is the grass lawn outside of the Architecture building (naturally, har har). I spent many afternoons laying out on that lawn with friends, soaking up some vitamin D, drinking our Diet Dr. Peppers and eating reese’s peanut butter cups (in moderation, of course).

Post-Wedding Bridal Portraits http://gatorbride.com/post-wedding-bridal-portraits/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://gatorbride.com/post-wedding-bridal-portraits/#comments Fri, 14 Jan 2011 11:38:48 +0000 Mrs Gator http://gatorbride.com/?p=5989 Since I jumped the gun and published my Gator Friday post early this week, we’re going to skip it today and feature some pictures of sweet Seminole Bridesmaid.

Okay, so obviously today’s post isn’t about me. I know, y’all love it when I talk about myself (only joking). This little ditty is about Seminole Bridesmaid (SB). SB was married a few years back. She never had bridal portraits taken (nor did I), which is a big ol’ thang here in the South. Recently she had the opportunity to “play” Bride again when her friends, who run An Absolutely Fabulous Wedding, needed a model for some promotional shots. Who wouldn’t say yes to the chance to get dolled up, prance around in a wedding dress (in cold December weather!) and have your photo taken? The result was some pretty awesome photos of SB.

To see the rest of the photos from the shoot visit photographer Tiffany Vaughn’s bliggity blog.

Do you plan/did you take bridal portraits?

Gator Fridays :: Allyn + Zenia’s Gator Engagement Shoot http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-allyn-zenias-gator-engagement-shoot/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-allyn-zenias-gator-engagement-shoot/#comments Fri, 07 Jan 2011 13:00:27 +0000 Mrs Gator http://gatorbride.com/?p=5867 Who doesn’t love a good Gator love story? How about a couple who laid the fate of their relationship in the hands of a simple game of “rock, paper, scissors”? Intrigued yet?

photo from Basia Mille Photography

Here’s their story:

Allyn and Zenia met at the University of Florida in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department’s College of Medicine. Allyn was a Graduate Research Assistant and Zenia worked in the Fiscal Office. Allyn later went on to work for University of Florda until 2009. In 2009 Allyn was offered a position with the USDA in California.

At the time Allyn was offered the new position, he and Zenia had only been dating for a few months.  As they walked through campus, Allyn told Zenia of his new opportunity. She responded with the only way she know how: “I think we should break up.”  Allyn, on the other hand, strongly disagreed.

With a clear and ominous impasse in front of them, they did a very “unscientific thing”;  Zenia suggested they “rock, paper, scissor” for it.  Seriously.

Allyn agreed. So there,  as oblivious students walked to and from class, a relationship lay in the balance as two people threw open hands, balled up fist and pseudo peace signs. In the end, Allyn was victorious and Zenia moved to California with him “no strings attached. “

Funny thing though,  it was the fact that she was willing to do that for him that started the wheels in motion for Allyn.  In the end? Marriage.  All because he chose “paper” instead of “scissors.”

Going from breaking up, to living together, to getting married – all because Allyn chose “paper”? Wahhhh. Crazy! Okay, now on to the really good stuff… the pictures!

If they don’t have a canvas print of this in their house, I can’t be friends with them. It is just too awesome of a picture not to be hanging big and bold on a wall. :)

This reminds me of our little ring shot, taken oh sooo long ago. Loves it!

I feel like the maintanence workers knew Allyn and Zenia were coming. The stadium looks freshly painted and the field is clean, painted, and crisp as if it were game day.

Ah ha! The infamous “rock, paper, scissors” match!

Ah, don’t you just love the UF campus in Winter? Beautiful.

I would like to thank David of Basia Mille Photography for sharing Allyn and Zenia’s story, along with some fabulous Gator engagement photos.

If you’re a newly engaged couple and would like to share your very Gator photo shoot (or video, like Marie + Sean did), please contact me! I loveeeee seeing anything orange and blue, and lovely! If you’re a photographer, please do the same!

Well, that’s it for this week’s “Gator Fridays” post. I hope y’all had a fan-tabulous first week of 2011. I have lots of fun orange and blue Gator posts to share with you in the coming weeks. Stay tuned my orange and blue lovelies!

Gator Fridays :: DC + Vanessa http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-dc-vanessa/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://gatorbride.com/gator-fridays-dc-vanessa/#comments Fri, 17 Dec 2010 05:59:07 +0000 Mrs Gator http://gatorbride.com/?p=5691 This Gator Friday feature is an adorable Gator engagement shoot I received in my inbox from Jenny of Captured Photography. I’m dying to know where this building is. Isn’t it amazing?! click these babies to view larger… you know you want to!

And what I love even more about DC and Vanessa’s Gator-ific engagement shoot? They’re high school sweethearts. Ya’ll know I hold a special place in my heart for high school sweethearts. Hello, Mr. Knight and I are practically middle school sweethearts. Ridiculous, I know.

Adorable.

Loving the “will you go out with me, check yes or no” note. Classic!

Jenny of Captured Photography (who is also DC’s sister, must be nice having a photographer in the family), also captured the proposal.

Aweeeeeee.

Even DC’s Dad got in on the action wearing an “I ♥ DC” shirt after the proposal!

Be sure to check out the rest of DC and Vanessa’s sweet engagement shoot. They are too cute. Thank you Jenny for sharing this fan-tabulous orange and blue e-shoot!!!

Our professional wedding pictures are in!

I nearly vomited on myself with excitement when I saw that little square envelope in our mailbox from our photographers. I’m having mini heart attacks of overwhelm-ment/excitement/obsession everytime I go through our pictures. While I spend the next 12 hours looking at our wedding pictures over and over and over again (till I’ve memorized every picture), I will leave y’all with a little sneak peek.

Our photographers were amazing to even get this shot without our videographer in it (our videographer is literally probably 1 cm to the right of this picture). I liked her being so close for video purposes, but we had more then a few disgruntled guests who weren’t able to see us get married. Looking back we probably wouldn’t have had her so close, and we would have bought a sound system (we were the only people who could actually ‘hear’ us getting married).

Hello amazing photographers. LOVE Ben and Amy Starks of Starks Photography. I shed a tear every time I think about us being their last wedding. They sent us TONS of sweet/amazing pictures from our wedding. I can’t wait to categorize them and prepare them for posts to share with y’all. There is so much FIERCENESS, GATOR LOVE (and chomp), and all around GOOD TIMES in all our pictures.

95% of the pictures, my mouth is in this position. You think I could have kept my mouth shut for one picture, just once? I was just way too happy that day, I couldn’t stop smiling/laughing/showing you my tonsils. :-)

Happy Saturday Everyone!

{heart}

I can’t say enough how wonderful it feels to be home. They always say, it’s nice to go, and it’s nice to come home.

The past day or so has been spent organizing, unpacking and relaxing. The husband (oh how I love calling him mah husband) and I have been exhausted. And I have to admit, I have been avoiding answering e-mails as along as possible. I’ve enjoyed my break from the Internet, however little of a break I actually took. But now it’s time to get back to business. :-)

But first, before I start recapping the most amazing week/day/moment of my life, I’d like to start with this adorable photo shoot our wedding photographers, the wonderful Ben and Amy of Starks Photography, did of Mama Knight and her husband, Western Cowboy (father of Western Sistah, who you met in my Bridal Shower post). Mr. Knight and I gifted them with a gift certificate towards a photo session with the Stark’s and they finally had the chance to use it, before they move back out West (we’re gonna miss them) {sad face}. Check out these sweet pics the Starks grabbed:

So cute!

All the photos were taken near their home in Palm Coast, Florida. They live near the intercostal waterway, which provided some pretty amazing backdrops for their shoot.

All photos by the amazingly talented Ben and Amy of Starks Photography

When Mr. Knight and I came home to Gainesville, we were greeted by a pretty awesome wedding gift that left us completely shocked and stunned for about 10 minutes, as we just stared with our mouths wide open (trying to figure out how/what happened). Stay tuned to find out what our amazing wedding gift from Knight Dad was that left us shocked and suddenly giddy, like two kids on Christmas morning.

:-)

Get it? We’re married and honeymooning in Maui… {waiting for the slow ones in the back to catch on}. :-)

While at the beach, soaking up some rays before some paddle boarding with my husband (love love love saying that!) we discovered a post Starks Photography did, giving us a little sneak peek at our bride and groom photos. I think I had a minor heart attack trying to get the photos to load on my trusty iPhone, so I had to wait till we got to our condo to see these babies…. oh boy, the wait was so worth it. ♥

I’m in love with this happy cheery photo! {swoon}

Ahhh heaven!! I told Amy of Starks Photography that I so wanted a photo of us laying in the grass after seeing a photo they did like this for an incredibly awesome e-shoot. It turned out amazing. I love it!

I want to thank Ben and Amy for posting some pics for us, as we have been chomping (gator chomping?) at the bit to see some!

Okay… back to more honeymooning with my husband! By the way, we are having a FABULOUS time. Can’t wait to share all of our fun adventures. We have been quite the busy bees. :-)
